The Inventive offices are perched in the beautiful North Devon village of Bishops Tawton, just a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of Barnstaple.
It is here that our talented team of graphic designers and web developers keep the Inventive cogs turning, producing some top-notch marketing and design projects!
So, here’s a little break down of what’s been going on here this September…
What’s happening in the studio?
Web developments
Having launched some great new sites last month, including a bespoke hotel website for The Sandy Cove Hotel and a brand new E-Commerce website for K9 Hero, our talented team of web developers have been at it again this month! We've just launched six new hotel websites for our friends at Lochs & Glens in Scotland, you can take a look at one of those here.
We've been busy at work on plenty of other development projects too, including a directory and listing site for lovers of all things horse related and a brand new E-Commerce website for The Geeky Stiching Company. The website's club subscription service is the first of it's kind in the UK and with some cute animated twists thrown in by Howard the site is sure to appeal to anyone who loves cross-stitch! We're hoping to put the new website live later this month so watch this space!
Another new (though very different) website, which is due to go live later this month, is for a leading South West commercial estate agent. We’ve been working closely with the owners to apply the final tweaks to the sites search facility and Content Management System (CMS), in order to ensure that everything's perfectly tailored to their requirements, having just had their CMS training we're hoping they'll be ready for us to put this one live very soon!
In design news
Our graphic designers have also been super-busy this month, producing a variety of different brochures, covering everything from holidays and housing developments to mobility scooters and wedding packages!
We recently supported Macmillan Cancer Support by donating a freshly designed banner stand (Which can be found in M&S, Barnstaple, if you wanted to check it out!)
What’s happening in the director’s office?
As usual, the sounds of supportive clapping to the beat of the office music, paired with plentiful groans of cogs-turning can be heard emulating from the directors office! I would estimate at least 15-20 calls a day get directed to the director’s office, and with an average phone call duration of about 3 minutes, so our directors are on the phone for a minimum of 1 hour a day – that’s 5 hours a week!
Research into many aspects of the business is ongoing, including the latest digital marketing trends and looking at how The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will affect both ourselves and our clients when it comes in to play next year. Mark has also been busy organising a visit to London later this month, for the upcoming Generate Conference where are digital team will be catching up with the latest web design and development trends.
Office Birthdays
As a special mention, we have two birthdays this month! Web designer Alex and office administrator Lea are both celebrating on the 16th of this month! Happy Birthday guys!
Escaping the Devonshire Weather…
As the weather here turns blistery, temperatures drop, winds pick up and rain bombards from above, what better to do than flock abroad!
It seems that September is the month of staff-holidays. Already we’ve seen 3 different members of staff flocking off to sunny locations including Spain and other destinations!
There’s never been a better time to get away and grab some fresh sunlight, seeing as the Great British Summer has definitely ended!
Our Musical Office Highlights
We have the usual artists on our sound system this month, some of which include Justin Bieber, Rhianna and Bruno Mars (whether I like it or not).
Some noticeable risers in our playlists have been Chuck Berry, Green Day and Mumford and Sons.
80’s cheese has also been in the mix this month, to the distaste of most of the office, but let’s be honest who doesn’t secretly like a bit of a-ha?
September’s Summary
Productive, efficient and most of all exciting, September so far has been a smooth month for everyone here at Inventive.
Only time will tell what October will bring, but we’ve all got a positive outlook! I’m personally excited to write all about spooky October! Stay tuned.
