Brand identity & design approach

We created a modern, approachable and uplifting visual identity that reflects the Trust’s positive role within the community. The charity's new logo pairs a clean all-caps wordmark with a bold butterfly symbol, chosen to represent transformation, support and optimism.

A flexible colour system was developed using both dark and light palettes to ensure strong contrast and accessibility across print and digital. Calming blues and vibrant accent colours convey trust, warmth and energy, with all combinations tested to meet WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

The brand's typefaces, Jost and Figtree, were chosen for their clarity, legibility and versatility. Both typefaces are well suited for use on both print and digital materials to ensure a strong brand consistency at all touch-points.

Website design

Clarity and accessibility were the driving forces behind the website design. We created a clean, calm and welcoming interface that reflects the Trust’s new visual identity and makes it easy for users to understand who the charity supports and how to apply.

The colour palette, typography and iconography were applied throughout to create a welcoming, friendly and consistent experience, while clear page structures help guide users through eligibility criteria, funding guidance and application steps.

Website development

The website was built in WordPress to give the Trust full control over its content as information and funding priorities evolve. We developed a flexible component-based system that allows the team to update text, add resources, and adjust layouts with ease.

The site is fully responsive, optimised for accessibility and performance, and structured to ensure information is simple to find and easy to read for visitors of all abilities. The result is a future-proof digital platform that supports the Trust’s ongoing charitable mission.

Project outcome

The rebrand and website have given The Clare Milne Trust a modern, accessible and cohesive identity that reflects the warmth and purpose of their work. The new website provides a clearer, more intuitive way for individuals and organisations to access information and apply for support, while the refreshed visual identity strengthens recognition and trust across all communications. The Trust now has a flexible platform and a contemporary brand system that will support its charitable mission for years to come.

Project overview

A charity rebrand and WordPress website created to support accessibility, engagement and community impact across Devon and Cornwall.

The Clare Milne Trust is a grant-giving charity supporting people with disabilities across Devon and Cornwall. To help modernise its communications and improve accessibility, we were commissioned to create a new brand identity and develop a contemporary WordPress website that reflected the Trust’s mission, while providing a clear and user-friendly platform for applicants, volunteers and partner organisations.
