Brand strategy
Our process began with an in-depth exploration of the hotel’s story, target audience, and the brand's evolving aspirations. Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s breathtaking location, perched above a dramatic coastline and surrounded by untamed countryside, we crafted a brand identity deeply rooted in the natural elements of the landscape.
The new visual identity features a refined serif wordmark paired with an organic, hand-drawn sans-serif typeface, reflecting both elegance and authenticity. The muted, sophisticated colour palette is informed by the surrounding environment, influencing not only the logo’s central icon, but also the coastline graphic that features across the wider brand system.
Every detail was carefully considered to create a tactile, sensory experience. Touches of warm metallic copper are used sparingly throughout the wider branding, adding a subtle sense of luxury without overpowering the design.
The final vision is intended to evoke a sense of calm luxury across all brand materials and to ensure an elevated, consistent brand experience.
Print & packaging
A full suite of printed collateral was developed to enhance the guest experience at every stage of their stay at the Sandy Cove Hotel. This included restaurant menus and signage, as well as concepts for stationery and in-hotel graphics. Care was taken to ensure every item felt considered, cohesive and beautifully designed.
In addition, we created further concepts for a bespoke range of luxury spa products. The designs reflected the new brand identity and emphasised quality, well-being and a connection to nature, helping to elevate the perception of the hotel’s upcoming spa offering.
Website & digital
The hotel’s website benefited from a refresh in line with the updated brand styling, introducing updated elements and retaining the elegant simplicity and ease of use. The site is fully responsive, featuring immersive photography, an intuitive, uncluttered navigation, and seamless booking functionality.
Developed using the highly customisable Drupal content management framework, the site empowers the hotel’s marketing team with the ability to easily update and add content to the website and features a flexible page builder with a wide variety of content blocks as well as an extensive central media library.
As part of the wider rebrand, we also developed a visual language for the hotel’s social media platforms, focusing on the design templates and tone of voice to ensure consistency and support a polished and considered online presence.
Project outcome
The rebrand has transformed how Sandy Cove Hotel presents itself to the world. From the moment guests engage with the website or arrive at reception, they are met with a consistent, considered brand experience that mirrors the quality and care found throughout the hotel’s offering. The new identity has helped to maintain and elevate the hotel within the premium coastal hospitality market in line with its updated vision, and strengthens its appeal to discerning travellers seeking a blend of luxury, calm and natural beauty.

A luxury hotel rebrand, website and print project created for one of North Devon’s most distinctive coastal spa destinations.
The Sandy Cove Hotel is a luxury spa hotel in North Devon, dramatically positioned on a clifftop overlooking the Exmoor coastline. As part of an extensive regeneration project, we were commissioned to deliver a refreshed brand identity, website and a wide range of printed marketing materials, including luxury spa product packaging, helping create a consistent and elevated brand experience across digital and print.
